[HD] Parnassius citrinarius

Japanese Clouded Apollo (Parnassius citrinarius) is one of the three Parnassius in Japan. Another two species are restricted in Hokkaido, northern Japan. This species ranges rather broadly from Hokkaido to Honshu (main island) and also Shikoku (S.W. island). It appears once in spring, usually April to May, sometimes June to July in high mountains. It flies slowly and gracefully near the ground and likes to visit many flowers. (Hachiouji-shi, Tokyo, JAPAN, May 2012)
