This showed up on the no calculator portion which is the reason why it is hard. Data on college board showed that this was one of the most missed questions.

The real hack for this...the ratios of the coefficients for x and y will be equal in a system of equations with infinite solutions....Set up a/2 = b/8 (the coefficients)...solve for a/b and you will quickly get 1/4.

Another way to do this is also by finding each of their slopes, for the standard quadratic equation being -b/a. That equals -4 as both are literally the same line. Multiply -1 on both sides and then reciprocal both of the terms.

My strategy for getting the answer was weird .... I'll say the least

If only I could absorb this knowledge beyond a superficial level
If only I could actually appreciate the beauty of math instead of rushing through it with the purpose of getting a good score on a college admissions exam
I hate the word college
I hate the connotation that comes with it
I hate the American view of education

I will tell u a trick which is taught in india I.e, a1/a2=b1/b2=c1/c2 for coincident lines, u can solve this in seconds with this. There are also for parallel and intersecting lines

I took 2/8 because I thought a=2 and b=8
