This has always been me. In high school friends would tell me to stop dressing like an old lady. But who doesn’t love sundress’ and cardigans.

at 70 I feel like the world has finally caught up to me... I have been using lots of books, candles, paintings, wood furniture... and color! I have had an oxblood red wall since the 90s.. never tire of it.. charm, , , charm.. charm.. its a cozy hug of a home ... my sanctuary

Finally it’s back! I’ve been longing for the days of cabbage roses, authentic Laura Ashley, Claire Murray, Lavender and Old Lace, Victorian Papers and chintz! When will designers realize that most women really enjoy femininity? So happy I saved my old fabrics and magazines!

My time has finally arrived 🙂. This has been my “style” for ever, it’s a collector’s curated life. I’m happy 😊

A few years ago I completely redecorated in a coastal style, but lately I've been adding things to achieve more of a "coastal cottage" style, and I'm loving it! Recently a friend visited who I haven't seen in a long time, and she gasped when she walked in to my home and raved about what she saw. She said my house made her feel as though someone was giving her a big, cozy HUG! For me that is the highest compliment, made my day!

So happy to hear more personality is coming back into home decor. The minimalist style looks like it no one lives there!! Looks like a showroom.

This is English Country to me and I love it! I've been decorating this way for years. It's just so cozy and comfortable. I've always loved bookshelves filled with books and things. Floral curtains, wallpaper, plants all around, candles and vases of flowers. Second hand furniture and nothing too fussy.

This is the style I have been unconsciously veering toward. I love it, I no longer care if someone else thinks it’s cluttered. I love thrifting and I love bookcases and tables, and displaying my finds

This is the sort of decorating that embraces people’s collections: things they have acquired along the way that reflect their tastes and their lives. That whole minimalist dentist office look from my point of view is The gallery wall with a collection of beloved prints or photographs or whatever is so warm and inviting. I like to be able to enter a person’s house and look at his/her/their taste(s). This is their living space. One would hope that they “live” there as opposed to exist there or use the home as somewhere to drop off their luggage. I have a number of different like things that I have collected. I just “finished” (well, really does that ever really happen?) a print collection in my living room of a series of moments from “The Lady of Shalott” poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. I am a retired English teacher ... who knew? I am so pleased with the effect. Plus other collections dotted around the house. The effect for me is wraparound warmth and a reflection of who I am and my taste. So, I am so, glad the pendulum has swung, as it inevitably should, back to scoochy furniture with layered patterned pillows and books and WALLPAPER! So love this vlog and affirms the fact that despite the fact that I am old as dirt, I am ahead of the trend ... by a decade or so. Oh, and a colleague and his wife who are now my best friends in retirement and increasing debilitation will not allow me to change my former “study/library” which is wallpapered and chintzed within an inch of its life (and which I did ... gah ... in the eighties). Again the pendulum element. So I looove this trend that you have discussed in this vlog. I feel personally vindicated! And, keep up the good work! Thanks so much.

I love it!!! I was obsessed with "the secret garden" as a kid and it reminds me of that.

I’m over white and grey. I’ve always loved my cardigans and books. I don’t want a house that’s polished and perfect. I want a place that’s welcoming and homey. Also, my last name is Clutter.

Apparently I've been doing Cottage Core all my life. A little shabby chic, a little grandmas closet and some French country. Love it!

English country has always been my favorite and really it is timeless because it is layered with comfort, family pieces and patina. It doesn’t look like you did a big shop at hobby lobby but enjoy the beauty of “real” things not just the latest cheap trend. So much more sustainable and affordable.

It is so "Country Living" from the 1990's which I loved so much then. Everything old is new again!

I really like bringing the femininity back. Not as drastic as Victorian, but more subtle. So pretty!
