At 3:15 AM on November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered his mother, father, 2 brothers and 2 sisters while they slept in their home in Amityville, New York.

One year later, a new family moved into the house and lived through what came to be known as “The Amityville Horror”. George and Kathy Lutz, along with their three children, were not told about the property’s dark history. They thought they had found their dream home but strange things started happening almost immediately.

A green substance oozed through the walls, windows and doors were found damaged and destroyed with no explanation, swarms of flies appeared despite it being winter, objects moved on their own, and all members of the family reported seeing apparitions and hearing unknown voices throughout the house. Many of them experienced strange time warping, where minutes seemed like hours and vice versa. One of the children started speaking to an invisible friend she called Jodie, which she described as a piggish monster with glowing red eyes.

The family contacted paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, who determined the house was under demonic infestation. A priest was also called to bless the house. He claimed he felt a malevolent presence and heard a terrifying voice tell him to get out.

Then George started waking up at 3:15 AM every night. He claims that one night he witnessed Kathy levitating in bed and discovered the children sleeping in unnatural positions throughout the house. This was the breaking point. The Lutz family fled the dream home they had purchased just 28 days ago. They left behind all their possessions and never returned.

The house has been sold and renovated multiple times since then and no paranormal activity of any kind has been reported.
