What a sad beautiful song. So much longing, love and self-discovery wrapped in it. I interpret it as a song about not being able to fully understand the person you love(d) because of how much more alive they seem, how deeply they feel and perceive the world (it's fascinating!) until you lose them and realise they have rubbed off on you after all. Now you do understand but it's too late. Digging the rock sound too, Tamino still retains his unique sound

This feels like a song i‘d catch at an odd time on a music tv station in 2008 and you cant tell if its new or old but just that it captures something. A feeling of the now and the yet to come.

I interpret these lyrics as the point of view of someone who knew he was loved by another person but didn't love her/him back. Doesn't understand the fascination of that other person for him "Your fascination's always fascinated me", especially when he has a high opinion of her/him (makes several references about the sensibility of the other person in contrast with his lack of emotions "And I didn't cry for that flamingo stuck in the salt, didn't care for it at all, while you couldn't hold your tears" or "Those modest sayings that mean so much to you, with me, they've never gotten through, I've always needed bigger words" ).
The other person finally understands that has to give up and is gone ("I lack the colors reflected in your eyes" or "But none of your colors can be found within the lines of the pages I made mine and the more we drift apart the more they start to blur").
Somehow, he misses someone was fascinated for him that way and could be said he even feels bad for hurting her/him (the car screaming scene or "For when I recall, all the nights that we have lost, waking in your love, I cry" ).
But still, he can do nothing about it as he can't love her/him back ("Try not to understand, just try not to understand, for I've seen enough to know where I belong and you can't prove me wrong, no").

What a nice change of pace for a music video. Just a dude having a good time by himself, without the company of anyone else. There's something surprisingly charming about it. Great song and great visuals to accompany the concept too. Can't wait to see you in Chicago!!

as he has said, this song is generally about seeing the world through someone else's eyes and find it beautiful.. and in this video he is just a passenger, maybe lost, and then there is that driver coming through.. and then there's just tamino driving the car, or let's say, seeing through the driver's eyes. and he enjoys what he is experiencing :)
and btw, so interesting to see him doing new, different and everyday things :]
