Sunny : Literally killed his sister and lives in constant guilt due to doubling down and disguising it as suicide, that up until now sheltered himself from the entire world, and is interacting with the idealized version of his friend group, who he had seen fell apart until recently.
Basil : Witnessed his best friend murder and lives in denial. Hanging the body in an attempt to protect him, and just realizing that his now only human contact who just appeared will be going away for potentially forever.
