Its true that palladium is not as frequently used as platinum and gold, but I sure do love working with palladium. All the platinum group metals are a dream to work with, especially platinum, iridium, and palladium. People are concerned about palladium's reactivity (the very reason its useful in catalytic converters) but its virtually a non-issue to the metalsmith in my experience, despite what is said on jewelry forums etc. The only drawback of palladium that I have found is that a nontrivial minority of people with a severe nickel allergy can develop cross-reactivity to palladium. Fortunately this cross-reactivity does not appear to extend to the other platinum group metals, and I have not seen an allergic response to palladium when its 10% or below the total alloy concentration.

Its highly used in jewllry especially white gold. Also substituting palladium with platinum is yielding way worse results. The tension between russia and US should have made palladium going to the moon since its like 50 times scarcer than gold, and its a real hasstle to purify.

If it's related to putin's economy we shouldn't even talk about it.
