These are the first 20 seconds of an animatic I am making to the song Farewell Kabarista by Vagabond Opera. The animatic will tell the story of a young gay couple who meet each other in the thriving queer scene in 1920s Berlin. However, as Germany gets increasingly hostile towards nonconforming behaviour when Hitler gains power, they become more unsafe in their own country. After the book burnings at the Institute for Sexual Science in 1933, they find themselves forced to flee their homeland...

For anyone interested in making similar content, I used MediBang to draw the main subjects, which is a free program and easy to use. However, they have a limited selection of brushes and the program gets overwhelmed easily. For the animating, I used Adobe Animate. As an art student, I need to have the Adobe Creative Cloud, but I would not recommend that to anyone who is not working professionally.

I do not own the music for this video, it's the song Farewell Kabarista by Vagabond Opera.
