Hi Angela, I wash my brushes after every use because I am pedantic about keeping my skin super clean and free from nasties. I use Beautyblender solid charcoal cleanser, the large 150g for £40 and it lasts ages. ❤

Try hanging the brushes, or put the brushes in a position with the handle tipped up. Most brushes, if lying flat, actually have the bristle end tipped up a bit. That means moisture travels down the bristles into the ferrule to loosen the glue. I hang brushes with rubber bands—take a bunch of brushes, weave the band through them, twisting and turning, and with the last bit hang the whole thing off a doorknob. I have four doorknobs in my bathroom, each with a bundle of about 10 brushes hanging.

I HATE washing my makeup brushes. But the irony is, I think I OVER WASH them! If that’s such a thing as I literally wash them after every single use! The powder brushes I can get away with leaving if I’m wearing makeup 2 or 3 days in a row, but if I know I’m not wearing makeup again soon then I’ll wash them! But yeah, I can never ever use a sponge or foundation brush twice! It makes my application look horrendous! ❤

I usually wash my brushes every week, but I skipped last week so I washed them today. I use rephr's brush soap and the palm of my hand. I channel Bob Ross a bit with my big fluffy BK Beauty brushes: shake off the excess water before quickly swiping them on a towel. The thing that takes the longest to clean is my Sigma Switch. I have to take a denture brush to that bad boy.

I clean my brushes at the end of each week (I wear makeup 2 to 3 times a week for work plus im a germaphobe) cleaning your brushes is *SUPER IMPORTANT*

I was so paranoid to wash my sigma brushes for the first time because I had previously ruined cheap brushes by getting them wet.
Of course the sigma brushes has no issue getting wet! So I'm going to start washing them at least monthly, more if I use them more often.

That solid sigma cleanser is impossible to rinse out of face brushes. It took me 5 min to get it out of a single brush, 10 min for 45 brushes is not believable to me. Not to mention it left residue that turns the brushes stiff if you don't rinse properly so I had to go back and rewash multiple times to get it out. I'm so happy I used that thing up, I got it as a gift with purchase and it's no wonder they were trying to get rid of them.

hello, it's the second clip in which I saw that at the beginning before you wash the brushes you put them in the sink, please think that there are microbes there, the sink is not always very clean, use a plastic container or a casserole instead - like this I wash them

I think I missed what cleanser you said to use. I love keeping my brushes clean, this was a perfect tutorial. Thank you Angela. I use threads a lot an older woman wanted to know how to do her hair and she said she didn’t wear much make up, but I told her she needed to and I gave her your name when I do this. Do I put a # in front of your name or the @ in front so they can go to you?

Cool, I do the same process as you but I would wash them twice with soap.

Just use 1 part dawn 1 part veg. oil 3 parts water.
