I install western red cedar shingles as siding on our off grid cabin in the woods. Sarah has to telework, but she made the trip to the cabin with me.

Who cares if we've already seen you shingling once, twice, or even thirty times. It's the process and your documenting the process. It's great for those planning on doing something similar to what you are doing to see exactly how long/how many times they'll be doing things like shingling the exterior walls. Keep on rocking those videos, you're doing fabulous!

Watching you install the shingles is like watching the waves on the beach. Soothing. And the best thing is that we continue to see progress!!! It may seem like boredom to you because of your many hours of repetitive work, nevertheless we continue to watch each wave and get satisfaction just being there with you as we silently cheer you on. Stay safe, my friend, to you and your wife.

Anything you do on your cabin is good content as far as I am concerned. Shingling is necessary and learning to use the router to clean up corners was something new that you taught me. It's all good. Have a great week and stay safe!! Peace!

I've got no problem watching you do shingles over and over again. It's all part of the process. And from an artistic eye, we get to watch the story of the finished product unfold a little at a time with each shingling video. Sure we can imagine it all done, but it's so much nicer to see it unfold. I appreciate your attention to detail and your uncompromising quality into the home. Keep up the good work. Don't worry about it being "boring". We appreciate the updates.

Having done some shingle siding myself, I learned from the old school craftsmen about weaving corners. A sharp knife blade for trimming and a block plane for truing up the edges were standard tools used back in the day. A trim router is the ideal tool for this and I would never have thought of it myself. Thanks for passing along yet another great tip. Hang in there, you are doing a great job!

I never tire of watching your craftmanship. it doesn't matter that it is shingles. Just keep doing and showing what you are working on.

It’s just great to watch the progress. You might think it’s the same repetitive job and not make good viewing but to me it’s satisfying to watch the progress of a blank wall to a nice finished wall. We are with you through the good and bad. And thank you for sharing it with us. Keep safe and well.
