Continuing our tutorial on Dread, in this video we look at the various Traits and Perks your Ruler can gain that affect their Dread score. We discuss the concepts of Natural Dread, Dread Decay, Dread Gain and Dread Loss.

I love the Dread mechanic, stacking Albino & Sadistic with Serve The Crown for 65 natural dread then just throwing on a personality trait or perk to counter the opinion loss makes the game so much easier, no rebellions & people just do what you want no matter how crappy you treat them (I tend to play pretty clean, not executing my own people but rutheless to enemies) just be careful if you're playing any christian faith, Sadistic is a sin so you get the normal opinion drop plus another opinion penalty on top & you won't get as much tax from religious holdings or be able to hit El Pope up for money as much if you're not in the Theology learning tree
