LG 34UM95-P Display Problem

Monitor is 8 months old and started displaying static on the right half of the screen when using Display Port input. HDMI works fine, don't have Thunderbolt to test. Unfortunately I do need to use the Display Port to hook up all my devices.

If the static doesn't show, I receive an error on the screen "Out of Range". I've tried multiple known working Display Port cables and multiple computers with the same problem.

Long story short, took them over a month and two separate failed attempts to repair the monitor to refund my purchase which given the service, is all I wanted from LG at the end of it all. Obviously your mileage may vary, hopefully this is just an extreme case of negligence on LG's part and not the norm. Still, it's frustrating to fall through those cracks.

It's probably too late for you poor fellows who commented below, but, for everyone else, here's what worked for me.

Unplug your monitor for 10 seconds (do not shut it off gracefully--you need to reset the PRAM). Plug it back in. Viola.

I hope none of you paid a clueless technician money to fix this. :/

Had the same problem this morning using displayport. Unplugging the display power cord from the power strip and then plugging back in fixed it. Whew! I was stressing over this for a good part of the morning.

My very same unit has had the exact same thing happen. Last night I was working in Photoshop until about midnight. Shut down normally. Boot up this morning and only half the screen is working with hash on the right side and everything is squished up on the left. I was shocked that LG does not have a service center that you can bring the monitor into anywhere around me and I'm 10 minutes from New York City. So now I have to wait for some yokel to come to my residence to not be able to do anything. I can't wait.

My monitor started having the exact same issue with the Display port cable. It is very odd since it all the sudden became an issue after a reboot one day. I'm searching for a fix...

Spent the better of 2 hours ripping apart my house to find my backup DP cable, then found this video, read the comments about unplugging it and plugging it back in, thought no way is this going to fucking and then it worked. fml.

I have seen the same on mine, it was working after I disable V1.4 in display port setting. I dont think it solved the problem, I think it will come again.
