This video is not high quality enough to give me the silky smooth feeling, unfortunately.

These guys are blind, it doesnt even look realistic, except the mirror's edge interior footage. If you say that look real, then you need to go outside more often.

1080p was buttery smooth already. tell me when its 60fps @ 1440p or 4k

Don't people realize that these days, it's much better to surpass 60hz and 60fps?
A lot of monitors may support up to 75hz (or more if overclocked, with some range of risks as hardware manufacturers impose a physical limit into the hardware to prevent you from pushing it too high), so no one literally fried their monitor off the bat (though it will decrease their lifespan faster).

At 144hz, you enter 3d monitor level of gaming, where frame by frame movements are super smooth. You can't see that on a 60fps limit on Youtube though, maybe one day we'll have a function to watch videos at higher refresh rates.

But the higher you push the hz, and the average frame rates, the more power your gpu and cpu is going to need.

If you already have a decent rig capable of surpassing 60fps vsync off, at 1080p, chances are you can go even further with a 75-144hz monitor, at 1080p to 1440p.

A human eye actually notices frame rates and such much higher than 60fps, it depends on your eye's health and the level of focus or attention is paid to the screen.

Maxed out above 60hz but at what resolution ??

salbaree

And what resolution were they running on? My 980Ti maxes all these games out at 60FPS/1440p as well, so nothing impressive there.

how much fps would this get on sim city 2?

How about you fix your drivers. Whats the point of having a 980 ti if my games crash or worst lag to $hit.
