Do I need a separate switch panel to operate a PoE camera system?

Hi, Just a quick Q. Does the data cable from the RJ45 port (where the device is directly connected to) go into a specific port into the patch panel? And then does a specific port have to be used to patch from the patch panel to a switch? e.g. if there are 2 x network systems running and you have 2 different switches but you want to one particular device to be connected to one of those particular networks. Does it need to use a specific port from the back-end of the patch panel to connect to a switch?

What was the point of wiring everything to the patch panel and then to the switch? Couldn't you have just wired everything directly to the switch? Thanks

I am having trouble with my setup, basically close to same setup. patch panel, switch, router, modem. But I am having issues. All my devices do not have internet connectivity except one computer, I unplug the ethernet from computer and plug into another wall jack and it works, for some reason only that one computer works. any suggestions

I am new at this, i have an office that I am doing and they decided to have a patch panel, they don't like a regular switch box. how do I set it up? if I have a 48 port patch panel, how do I give it Internet? do I still need a switch to connect with it?

I don't understand why we need all these wires and patch panel. I can connect my laptop to the internet wirelessly using a router with telephone cable only, or using an ethernet cable to connect in LAN. Then what's the point of all these cabling? can you tell me a basic connection of how to connect a PC --> switch --> patch panel and how it is better than the home network. Thanks.
