I rarely speak out, especially when it comes to sports, but i watched the game where this incident occurred and in my view the contact with the referee was accidental. On reviewing incident, Kent's hand was going down at the same time the referee's hand was moving up and resulted in contact. It was a matter of timing. Perhaps it was the referee making contact with Coach Austin instead. I understand Kent's frustration as there were some very questionable calls during the game especially the call on Center Filer's for moving the ball forward instead of setting up the ball for the hike to the quarterback. A few plays later, Saskatchewan has even less distance to cover that the penalty call to Hamilton and their Center did exactly the same setup to hike the ball as Filer was charged with, why was that not called for moving the ball ahead as well. I believe the League needs to address the issue of over-zealous referees and bad calls. The league should keep track of a referee's record on bad calls and if the referee exceeds a set number of bad calls they should be suspended from any future involvement in games without a refresher on the rules of the game. I don't blame Kent for his frustration, I was so frustrated I wanted to go through the TV to get at the referees for their bad calls. This bad call in my view cost Hamilton the game and those referees should be reprimanded. Whatever Kent, keep up the fight and your enthusiasm for the game, we will always have to face the bias of some referees that simply do not like the Cats. Go Cats Go!!! The Cats will prevail despite the referees.
