I am learning my lesson, on these for profit college. I graduate with my Bachelors degree in sociology last year of 2023, they also told me that GCU is a non profit college, and the school and program is accredited institution, and told me that I would get a job when I complete my Bachelors degree. And GCU told me that this college has a low tuition rate, and I would not be in student loan debt, so i went along on what the SCC told me
I was so happy to continue my degree to make my family proud, also people were telling me that GCU college is a scam and they mislead students, I didn’t pay it no mind on what people were telling me, because I wanted it to finished getting my degree. Months had passed by, right? They were telling me I have to pay $150.00 dollars for my degree, I ask my SSC that why do I have to pay for a college degree for? Especially when I worked so hard, I told my SSC that my old SSC told me that I don’t have to pay for my degree, and SSC told me that yes I have to, because if I don’t, they can’t give it to me, I was telling them about my goals that I achieved here at GCU and telling my SSC about it she got nasty with me, they always avoid my questions, but when it comes to money, they would be satisfied. I should’ve had just did my research on this school. I was to busy rushing to go back to school. I was telling my old admission’s from Boricua college, I was telling him a-lot about GCU misleading students about accreditation, my admissions from Boricua college told me and my sis that he ask us if GCU is accredited Institution? And we told him that GCU told us that GCU accredited
College, I was telling him a lot. And he told me and my sis that he seen GCU commercial on TV, telling us that they promised us dreams and etc, when it’s a bunch of BS, and also told me and my sis that should tell us right there, like he was telling us that we have to stop rushing into stuff. Now I am in student loan debt of 26K, I told the loan people that I am not paying for those student loans back to y’all, because where I am gonna get 26K from? I am on a fix income, back in 2020 I got accepted to CUNY Lehman college to get into the BSW, and I should’ve had toked the opportunity to go to CUNY Lehman College, because I wouldn’t be in student loan debt. Now it’s all about learning from my mistakes, so now I know not to go back to GCU. TBH, I felt like that I didn’t learn anything at GCU, it really wasn’t about the education, it was really about the money. They don’t care about you, they only care about getting what’s inside of your pockets, the best thing to do is go to a SUNY college or CUNY college, because they don’t run like a business like GCU, community colleges is not going to mislead students telling them that we gonna guaranteed you a job, everything takes time, community colleges doesn’t have court cases, you get a better education, and student loan debt free, it’s all about the education what’s needed. Shit I learned way better at boricua college that GCU, because boricua college cares about students education, they don’t operated like no business, because it’s accreditation college, it’s best to stay from colleges that mislead students, high tuition rate’s, court cases, paying for a degree, and being a for-profit school. Stay far away from those outside schools, it’s best to just go to a community college, where professors are going to care about your success, not about money & etc. I felt that I wasted my time, I also was being mislead too. And I been hearing bad stuff about the nursing program in the Bachelors degree, and in the masters degree too. Misleading students that individuals would be doing their felid work, when a school is telling you that the nursing program course is online, THOSE ARE THE SIGN’S OF RED FLAG’S 🚩🚩 RIGHT THERE, get up and walk away, it’s sad that people likes to make short cuts around the loop, the nursing program is a lot of work, and if that individual wants to attend to another college, they aren’t going to take that persons credits because GCU is not accredited. And of course Brian Miller is not going to pick up his phone to talk to individuals about their issues, because Brian Miller is about the money and misleading students. Idk why Brian Miller is upset now, he did this to him-self, he has to be accountable on what he did to these students. I will never tell anybody to come to this college, because it’s a scam, they wanna take all of your financial aid money. When people show you their true colors, believe them the first time. They like to pray on people to come to GCU where they can leave you in student loan debt, shit my school that I graduated at boricua college, I was never in student loan debt, and they never harassed me about no money.
