The 2024 Fiat 500e is a Small but Mighty City EV

Want some spunk in your commute? The second-generation Fiat 500e is a four-passenger jetpack. Small and nimble, it’ll put a grin on anyone near it, even singing a little tune crossing 20 miles an hour. The $34,095 INSPR(RED) version tested saves money on fueling and scores parking spots too small for Honda Civics. It’s Miata grade fun for chucking into corners, as long as 149 miles of range is enough…

Special thanks to Glen Iwasaki for driving duties this week!

Perfect ev for city commuters and tight parking. My commute is 5 miles in LA traffic, and my workplace has free chargers.

Part of me says this is where the sweet spot for the EV world should least for now. A city car with many applications. I recently saw a clever device that turns street lamps into Level 2 chargers. Widespread avail of charging combined with an under $20K price could give life to this category.

This is a fantastic car for city living, hoping to see more smaller EV's like this coming out soon. Great vid

I had a 2015 500e. It only had like 80 miles of range. If we had 150 it would have easily covered every single trip, even for longer drives

I live in the UK and these are far from rare here. The range is no issue for most. I mean, be realistic, most USA commutes are 40 miles at MOST, just plug back in when you get home - like you do with your phone - and you’ll be fine! Really hope this sells well for Fiat.

As soon as they bring the convertible, I’ll buy it!

Beautiful car, crazy that it took so long to come to our Shores. And we don't even get all the options. In Europe it's got a beautiful panoramic roof, great review as always Tom👌💯

I want to see one in person so badly. Great review as normal Tom. I imagine we will see b-roll of you at home charger in EV videos moving forward 😀

I only drive 50 miles a month. Would love to have this car. For $26, 500, great price.

Love this. Would love it more if they could shave $10k off the price. Thank you for today's video.

As a happy owner of two Fiats I'd really like to see the company sell the 500e here as a mainstream product like the old 500, not drop "special editions" on us once or twice a year as they currently plan to do. Stellantis markets Fiat here in the US as an upmarket brand, but honestly if they brought vehicles here like the Tipo and Panda and positioned Fiat as a hipper, budget-friendly alternative they could generate sales that would otherwise go to the likes of Toyota and Honda.

This thing for $10-15 K all day, for anything over $20K NO WAY IN HELL!

Great review. This really is the first EV I've ever found appealing. one red light mention should have been the charging time. 37 hours? how does that compare to the industry average? If Honda brings their E car to the states that will be real competition.

Tom, I have enjoyed your content for many years now, and yes, you SHOULD have over 1M subscribers. In order to achieve that however, you likely need more content (2X or 3X per week) with more variety: comparison tests, long-term vehicles, etc. And take advantage of Martin. Let him share his feedback at the end…could be an interesting contrast to your own views. Also, weren’t you supposed to buy a Cadillac Lyriq or similar EV? Was looking forward to hearing your decision.
