I'm 65 and I have my dad's Estwing Hammer. He's been off this earth for a long time (died at 54) but I still use his hammer to this day!!

I have a few "Zwilling" brand scissors inherited from my parents that are in great shape after more than 4 decades of service, with the occasional sharpening. German steel from Solingen FTW!

I have a couple of pairs of Fiskar scissors. I've been very fortunate not to have to hone them. They always seem to be sharp for what I need.

This had me thinking of the centuries of early blacksmiths making square nails... and then finally the factory line with round nails... all the while the very basic hammer continues essentially unchanged.. on into Fran's hand. Within that context, such a major historical moment to witness the rise of the portable battery, a significant change to basic labor over time. Yet, the hammer remains of crucial usefulness to Fran and with that the long connection to the past continues on.

OMG!!! You fixed my scissors. 😳I honed mine so sharp that they'd cut my hand if I picked them up wrong, but they wouldn't cut fabric. I had no idea what was wrong with them. Thanks Fran. Love you!

Hemostats are the indespensable needle nose vice grips we all need.

you can get scissors with a sharpener in the plant area at menards. they are labeled trimming shears.

My parents had some really old barber scissors that we never sharpened, but boy did they cut paper wonderfully till the end. They got lost sometime along the way but we used them for about 20 years. Best pair I ever saw. Scissors I buy today just last maybe a year before they start cutting lousy.

True Temper also manufactured fish hooks and fishing rods; another well-known manufacturer of fish hooks is Eagle Claw but I don't think they ever made claw hammers!

Best way to sharpen dull scissors? Try cutting the neck of a glass bottle a few times. Sharpens them right up!

Hemostats are very good for removing fish hooks in game fish that are too small to keep and are notorious for swallowing bait and hook and all.

Fran this is way off this video but I remember seeing a video you posted years ago, old advertising TV ad about appliances and it basically said a woman belongs in a kitchen or something like that, it erks me men thought that way and wanted to show my wife, I can't find it anymore, please help, Love your channel
