Very cool video. I am currently working on a socla media clone and your video has inspired me to add a forum to it for the giggles.. Maybe find a way to intergrate the social media posts to the forum post.. One question I do have, maintaning the fourms as far as update, etc.. Is there an option to allow this automatically ? I never liked the idea of building just a mailing list. So I'm going back to a forum concept which usually has ways to email members and has sections for members only. I'm an old SMF guy but I don't like the looks of SMF and all they do is "talk" about making it mobile friendly. Not sure if MyBB is or not but thanks for this video. I also appreciated the story.

Hey man! I followed every step you did exactly but when im installing MyBB the database name "mybb" will not work. Any help? thank you I have no clue why this is happening I know my password and database username are correct its just the name thats not mybb

I managed to get setup and running but why would a url prefixed with "www." point to an insecure html resource (default apache page) where as the raw domain name redirects to the forum through https?

Did you have to pay for a domain name or was one given from myBB?

Very interesting great for a small business to have a forum as well. Surprised these are not still popular with small business like a plumber or someone looking to create a community around it.
