Same thing happened to a cricket legend known as the little master, Sunil Gavaskar. He was a very talented and stylish batsman in the Indian cricket team, played till late 80s. There was an international match underway in Calcutta. It wasn't his day that day and he got out without contributing much for the team. It really angered the crowd and people started booing and abusing him, throwing empty bottles at him and whatever other things they had, which hit him while he was walking out of the ground towards the pavilion.

It really pissed him off being disrespected like this and he later announced that he won't be playing any kind of match ever again in Calcutta stadium no matter what. People don't understand that it's always not your day everyday...
