Parents and students in the Jenks Public School District are speaking up about the school’s new dress code. They say it’s not clear and unfairly targets girls. The district implemented the new dress code just days before school, saying it just wants students to dress modest and reasonable.

Everytime school starts it's the same thing, tbh I kinda understand most work environment do not allow you to wear short shorts or short skirts from a working perspective it's a safety issue. I work in a kitchen if you wore shorts and things spill on your leg you can and will get very hurt. That being said they are kids sitting in class doing paperwork clothes shouldn't matter outside of PE and maybe science. SMH

When i was in school, no one was allowed to wear shorts. Boys wore pants. Girls wore modest dresses. In 1971, girls could wear dress pants. We lived through it. I think a high dress standard is good. So sorry the parents "panicked. " 😢

Unfairly targets girls? Why is THAT? Maybe the PARENTS can explain this to their child and make SURE they aren’t humiliated by finding out what the deal is.and they regret that? How about APOLOGIZING in front of the class?
