In today's class we will talk about authentication. We will look at 2 factor authentication as well as multi-factor authentication. Next we will discuss authorization and how network admins can assign access control policies on users trying to access resources. The three policies we will look at is Mandatory access control, discretionary access control and role based access control. Before I start talking about authentication and authorization, I request my viewers to check out some other videos of mine for which I have attached the link below. Last of all don't forget to subscribe.

The process of identifying users trying to access data is known as authentication. This can be in the form of PIN or passwords. 2 Factor authentication is a second form of authentication besides the usual username and password while multi-factor authentication is more than 2 forms of authentication. In this video we will look at some of the common objects used in authentication.

Next is authorization. Authorization is assigning resources with certain level of access to specific users only. This is accomplished by access control policies or lists. There are three types of ACL access models:

The first is the Mandatory Access Control (MAC). The next is the discretionary Access Control (DAC) and The last type is the role-based access control (RBAC).All these three types of access models are explained in detail in the video
