Do you guys not remember that Wednesday has always been super mean like this? It's part of her character and people should have expected something like this to happen if she interacted with other kids. In most of the comics and shows, the kids don't go to school for most of their lives. So the only other kid Wednesday interacted with was her brother, who she tried to kill- many times a day- and also not getting in any trouble for it either. Just because now she is being mean to a more likeable and sensitive character like Enid, then you start to notice that she is honestly kind of mean. Her behavior was never justified in the shows and comics, it was simply normalized. It's part of her character and it is good writing tbh.
