The calculator was not worth a decade wait, but it is amazing to have.

I used an ipad for notes from junipr year of high school all through college (engineering). I am so jealous of these features.

On the topic of Apple's new Math Notes: the only use case that would compel me to use this is if it can auto translate LaTeX.

Microsoft Math Solver for the iPad: *exists for years*
Apple: *announces Math Notes*
Marques: I have never seen anything like this before
Microsoft Math Solver for the iPad: Am I a joke to you?

Tydlig used to do most of this 10 years earlier on the ipad too. It would be a great if you made a comparison video to see how much of these new features are really ai driven innovation

Back in the day Microsoft Encarta had an integrated Math feature (Equation-graphing) even more

I don't even use the calculator on my iPhone. I always use spotlight instead. So I never actually missed it, but math notes. That's really cool.

It’s dope for budgeting. I write my budgets and plan trips in notes then hop over google sheets.

Just found out the new calculator app can do a LOT of conversions, like any conversion you may need. It's crazy how functional the calculator app is now.

11:20 as an iPad Air + kneeboard case user, please make them thicker. All those internal pressure point ripples on the display can get a little distracting

I remembered using the T-something calculator in the 90’s that cost $100+ and 20 years later an iPad has that capability for $1000 plus. Wow, just wow!

There was old research that hand writing is beneficial way to take notes comparing to typing b/c character by character would have a function call to the brain by connecting memory of words, so would work like confirmation of the notes into the brain.

you don't actually need MagSafe for the standby mode on the iPhone, it still comes up if you have the phone charging and on its side, even if it's just with the regular iPhone charging cable, so they shouldn't need that on the iPad either!

Can you write a second order polynomial and have it apply the quadratic equation for the roots?

Well thanks, Marquez.
Siri says "I'm sorry, I can't do that". "Who is speaking? Who is speaking please"

David you're not alone in the handwriting thing, I do inventory for a living and often our customers have to give us a list of item numbers in quantities to enter, and I've become really good at being able to decipher between numbers that people often get lazy about writing. such as the 4 verses 9 thing, 2 vs Z, S vs 5, ... sometimes 7 looks like a 1 if they don't take long enough on the top of the number or a 2 if they let the pen drag on the way to the next character. usually it's because they're trying to do it quickly, but there's a big difference between a 1 and a 7... especially if the item is expensive, where in pharmacy if you're talking about dosages, that difference could be the difference between somebody living or dying... fortunately the medical industry has gotten away from handwritten scripts, right?
