One thing I agree with her on. New constitutional convention sounds like a bad idea.

Listen to this woman. She is not just some random opining. She lectures in political history! Constitutional reform may be needed, but not removing the Constitution completely. America, only you can save yourself by voting. Vote 💙

Especially when there’s so many of us who can’t even tell you what’s in the Constitution.

Exactly!!!
How about the idea we meet in the middle and actually have a dialogue and meet in the middle and compromise?
What a concept…win/win without having to go extreme left or right!!!

Handing it over to a few rich guys is exactly what’s been happening in the United States for the past 100 years

It's clear our political system isn't working and needs an overhaul. If anything, the Constitution needs to be strengthened to protect the nation and its citizens from current day and future abuses and transgressions. Even more so, the government needs to be restructured to return our government back into the protector and servant it was intended to be. And, it needs to be done by the citizens because "children won't discipline themsleves".

I'm tired of people equating the far left with the far right. nobody on the far left wants to completely dump the Constitution and everything it stands for. we want it to be updated.
Heather I admire you greatly but if you're going to really try to convince us that nobody that's ever rewritten their constitution has ever had a working government then you just going to have to pay more attention to foreign policy because clearly this is a subject you are lacking in.
it's never a good excuse to say nobody's ever done it before.
it can be done, it should be done and it will be done.

A great leader is usually one who is willing to be a servant of the people.. Whenever rich, powerful are elected, they tend to be Kings or Dictators, not willing to serve the people.

I’m terrified to Heather. I’m afraid for our country 🇺🇸

Be concerned when the government comes for your guns. A2 must be strong for us to be free

There’s no far left in America. It terrifies me for people to think so.

Heather, an Article 5 Convention can only change one line of the Constitution, and wouldn't it be nice to establish human beings as citizens and not corporations.

She reminds me of that character in “The World According To Garp” John Lithgows character

I'm probably to the left of Heather Cox Richardson politically (although that's a guess based on where I land on the two-dimensional map), but I value her contributions to the political discourse in this country. The deep knowledge of history she shares gives crucial perspective on what is happening and what it means for our country.

It terrifies me, and it's basically what we have now.

Yes so worrying. And not just a few rich guys but Wall St. in general, no?
Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital, Investment Banks, whatever.... They aren't receiving any where near the scrutiny that they should!!
And they're thriving in this time of chaos and rolled back regulation.

How about amendment to? Direct ranked choice vote. Campaign finance reform. Supreme Court term limits would do a lot.
