How do you help a loved one who doesn't want help? We speak to many adult children who would like to see their elderly parents receive support. They know that it would provide a safer environment and would even prolong their ability to remain in their home. Sometimes, though, they run into resistance, as the help is not always welcomed. Today we'll discuss this, and a list of a few helpful tips.

My mother has dementia and she gets angry when she sundowns. I try to offer coffee to her, and tell her we can talk about different types of care. I let her vent and get out her anger, then she calms down and we can discuss nursing home, or home health after we clear the air. She has decided, so far, to stay at home with me and wait until after Christmas. I try my best not take it personally. It has been a challenge, but this seems to work, so far!

This video is ridiculous, . Obviously you’ve never taken care of a parent who is in moderate severe stage of dementia and paranoid… And refuses and is unable to accept how they are.
