A year ago our girls picked their rooms in our Rental home, now lets tour their room and ask the important questions....Do we miss our Dream home?

Dont worry about holes in the wall. You can go to the hardware store, buy a tub of spakle or joint compound and paint. Super easy to fix yourself, I always do this in my apartment if I have to move!

At the end you touched on a VERY important point that many families miss, overlook or ignore: For a happy family, with happy family interactions, a smaller home is way better. Because, as you now realized, in a huge home family members are prone to isolate themselves from each other. And isolation tends to lead to depression.
The principles of “more with less” and “less is more” hold a very important truth. Why would you need a living room, a family room and maybe even a den for a family of five? All three rooms serve basically the same function: a place to gather and share time together. Having three rooms for the same function means you have three times the space you have to clean, three times the volume you have to heat in the winter and cool in the summer, and increases your expenses for insurance, maintenance and taxes.
With all the electric and electronic gadgets that have become so pervasive in our daily lives, I have come to realize that for a better mental [and thus also physical] health a bedroom should be just that. A small cozy room that fits the bed and a decent closet where we can rest body and mind and get clothed for the day. There should be minimal to no electronic devices. A separate room should be dedicated as a space for work, study and play. Thus you can separate work and rest, and all those [pesky] LED's on all those devices will not disturb your time of rest.
Even though having a private bath for each bedroom might be convenient, it fails to teach social respect, consideration for others, scheduling discipline and conflict de-escalation that is a natural with a common or shared bathroom. Plus, again, it multiplies the spaces that need to be cleaned and maintained, higher costs up front as well as over the lifetime of the structure.
With careful design smaller spaces can be more efficient and comfortable than bigger spaces.

Im always amazed how mission rules have changed... for the better. On my mission there was only i think two days you could call home i believe, Christmas ans mothers day. I dont keep up much with your channel that often but would love to know where Lincoln got sent but obviously understand and respect if you decide not to say.
