Evolution of Building Performance Metrics

Over the years, building performance metrics have undergone a significant transformation. Initially, metrics focused primarily on energy efficiency, measuring aspects such as energy consumption and carbon emissions. However, as sustainability and occupant comfort gained prominence, the metrics expanded to encompass a broader range of factors.

The aim is to understand this holistic approach which provides a more comprehensive understanding of a building’s performance and its impact on occupants and the environment.
