In my experience shanking happens when I want to apply too much topspin and just barely brush the ball instead of hitting through, and the ball just rolls over the stringbed and hits the frame on the bottom frame of the face of the racquet.

Great video Vincent. Can you highlight in a video how to alter technique to hit cross court vs down the line, also short vs deep. Thanks

How to have a better groundstroke?
What's the advantage of playing forehands that lies on the net ??

There's a relationship between ' racquet lag', the position of the raquet prior to forward swing, the location of the back foot and the way the heel of that same foot peels away allowing the hip to come throught the shot. No amount of explaining will improve the forehand unless the synchronization of those elements are understood and practiced in the physical sense.

Yep, I stopped framing forehands the moment I saw the bigger picture...frameless forehands look much better.
