Hello, I started piano about a month ago and this is the first bit of the piece that I have learned. A long way to go but here is my progress so far! I will definitely have to improve on the left-hand part...

Here’s my 4 month progress on this piece!

Ive been playing for 10 years and i am able to play this song, i would recommend that you don’t attempt difficult songs early as it makes it harder to learn the basics later and i find you lose motivation quicker as you think “well i can play this piece so what is the point in learning the basics”. I think that anyone who is new to piano and wants to play these types of songs to do grades 1-6, as if you can play grade 6 you can basically play anything with lots of practice, then attempt this piece. But you can do whatever you want on the piano.

In the nicest way possible, you aren't at all ready for this piece, everything in this recording is completely off, the notes, rhythm, articulation and everything that makes this piece what it is are just absent. That being said, it doesn't mean you're bad, it just means you're not at that level yet but you can work towards it with discipline. It's like trying to bench 200 kgs on your first day, you risk damaging your technique forever, and while true injuries in piano playing are rare, they do happen. Just take the journey step by step, and you'll become a good musician

One month of piano and he is ALREADY trying to learn hard piano pieces. I respect that.

It's obviously not great but seriously very impressive. I've been playing a year and it took me so long to learn how much you have that I quickly gave up about a week or 2 into learning this piece. Seriously keep it up!!

It's really fascinating how the structure of the hand embodies the technical level. The better your get, the better your hands will look and feel on the piano

I understand that you really want to play advanced pieces. We all want to do so, but you have to go by steps ;)

Imagine that you have an invisible ball in your hand while playin piano, this way your hand will look relaxed and proffesional, not like stepped spider. It also allows to "fling" your fingers into keys while playing, it makes everything easier in pieces that are fast and precise

I really wonder what is with all these YouTube videos of "self taught" alleged "pianists" trying to attempt pieces after just a few months of "self teaching" that even some Grade 8 folks are unable to fully do justice to. Get your basics right first. Which from the video, appear to be completely non-existent.

Not too sure about the one month of piano, maybe one month into learning the piece, but I agree with the comments, walk before you run, the quality of your music will improve drastically

Impressive and I admire you're dedication and spirit, but be careful! Don't try to run before you can walk! Master proper technique first, or else you will risk injury. I know progress is exciting, but be patient. You will thank yourself later

God damn bro you have serious talent! I’ve been playing for 5 years now and even I can’t do that granted I’ve never attempted that piece but it is still very impressive! I hope you keep playing

Good job i like you determination but don't try to play it seriously take the learning of this piece into 3 to 4 years since you have a lot to improve thats really obvious that you don't have the level to play (not to be insulting you but i think you understand my point) but if you are happy behind your piano don't worry a sucess is build by time and you will get there (i mean this is a really hard piece i would say 8 to 10 years of piano 6 years for the most talend pianist)

it's great that you can learn such hard songs but at the end you will not progress as a pianist, just know how to mimick a hard piece brute forcing it

Hey this is a great start. Of course starting with this isn't ideal, but I went against what people said I should do and I jumped straight from the easier pieces to liebestraum no. 3, fantaisie impromptu, then waltz in c sharp minor, and now butterfly etude (started studying liebestraum and fantaisie impromptu around 0.5 - 1 year into playing). I'm learning so much so quickly and I'm actually able to play each piece effectively and perform them with great quality and emotion. If you keep this up, you'll be great in no time.

This actually isnt nothing to respect. Doing this can cause wrong technique development + injuries + wrong polyrithm

very nice, i recommend getting a better piano for such a taxing piece, along with a teacher. They can help you a lot with technique and preventing injury.

Don’t learn difficult pieces when starting if you are planning to become a pianist. You may develop bad techniques and habits which could be difficult to get rid of later on.
