The host is the one giving something away. When you host a party your giving away food - your giving away crap. Love that!

Hey bucky love your channel and vids but i dont think your description on host, client and server is completly accurate: A host in a computer network is just any computer that is connected to a network. A server is a host on wich a program is installed that can send and receive data to clients (or other servers) and a client is mostly an interface between the user and a server.

If you're using XAMPP to run PHP on your computer, are you both the host and the client?

Whats the difference between a HOST and a SERVER ?
I can google this question and get answer, but your examples and explanation are simpler to understand, so please tell me.

But if we talk in terms of file transmitting and receiving, even the PC(client as u said) can send the files and the server( Host as u mentioned) can receive the files. so in this case does the definition of host and client get reversed or still pc is client and server is host?

It's a kind of iPad. You connect it with your Computer about USB i think.
Just for drawing, but you can use a pen to draw. It looks way better. =)

I want to point out that clients and servers is more about software then hardware. and that ANY networked device, be it a smartphone, tablet, PC, smart refrigirator, IP Camera etc, etc, may have software acting as a server, and not to let the looney toons legislators start drafting laws preventing individuals from maintaining servers and/or services.

so by your definition, when your computer sends a file to the printer, the computer is the host and the printer the client????
