Police arrest 13 Pro-Palestinian protesters at Stanford University

The 13 were detained after the students and alums barricaded themselves inside the office of the university president Wednesday morning.

I got a question...why are people protesting about other countries instead of protesting whats going on in our country?? Seems like an psychological operation to me

Why would the school negotiate with the protesters? What do they have to offer?

I'm pretty sure negotiating involves a certain back and forth until two sides come to an agreement. When you sit on your backside and state you aren't leaving until the college gives in to your demands that's not negotiating. I'm pretty sure it's called holding the other side hostage until they give up. Or hopefully arrest and prosecute the hostage takers.
And you just pay the school to let you learn there. You do not own the school. You have NO legal say in what the school does or doesn't do with its endowments. And it's not even the majority of students making these demands. So if you're so eager for democracy then it is the other students whose opinion matters.
Hopefully the school will develope a back bone.

The one of the ideas of behind going to university is to have a few years in which to grow up. It does not seem to have worked with these kids.
