I hate that so many promising movies were scrapped or changed because they were "too weird" or "Too dark" for kids.
I watched a lot of weird, dark stuff in the 80's and they were great movies. A lot of the newer ones just end up being generic with really similar characters and plotlines.
This must be really frustrating for the creators.

I actually took a class with Matthew Luhn, who is a storyboard artist at Pixar. He was talking about Newt and said "yeah, my wife worked on that for two years".

That clip from Toy Story the Black Friday reel was disturbing for me to watch, because Woody was basically acting like a heartless slave-driver to the other toys, not to mention he was actually intending to murder Buzz. Thank goodness his character was given a much-needed overhaul for the final product.

I feel pretty bad  for the developers of Foodfight. All that hard work, just to get their footage stolen...and the final project critically panned.

Theory:
The guy who stole the “better” food fight, trying to stop the world from seeing it, but he only made it worse causing a worse version to be released.
Could it be that FoodFight is the bane of the universe, we need to stop the apocalypse.

I'm actully glad they changed Toy Story the original seemed a lot more meaner in tone. I think that change was for the better. Woody becomes much more likeable in the re-worked version.
