The so called "Rune of Óðinn" is often said to be a symbol for camouflage, deception and illusion. However, it isn't what it seems to be. And that, in itself, is an illusion, and used by some to create deception for personal gain.

Arith. Always appreciate your efforts to be as objective as possible. A comment: “Magic” is probably a manifestation of our general ability to affect reality to whatever slight degree by focused visualized intent and belief. So ultimately the efficacy of any magic stave is “at will.” For those with no intent/belief in it, no effect will be achieved, which is the literal manifestation of their belief. They look cool, in any case.
