Bring the Love by Jake Cornell

My son wrote this song for my birthday after I adopted him and his sister. I cried through the entire song. 2002 just a few months before Jake was born I met his mother. Her husband left her with a toddler and pregnant. Several months later after Jake was born my 12 year old daughter was asked to babysit. My daughter Taylor had never babysat a baby that small before and I found myself babysitting a new born. Not long after I asked his mother out on a date. A mere two years later Charity(Jake’s mom) and I were married in a small ceremony in Las Vegas. When I married Charity I was committed not only to her , but to my new children as well. Their biologic father never really saw them and certainly didn’t provide any child support. I raised these two kids as my own. Charity were blessed with a baby after 11 years of marriage. On December 13th 2015 of the same years I adopted Jake and his sister Alexis. Jake and I have always been very close. Jake had only been playing the guitar for about 1 year when he wrote this song and presented it to me on my birthday. He wrote this song in 2016 and he is so much better now. This song will always have very special meaning to me. It made me so happy to know that Jake knew workout a doubt that I love him and he has always been my son in my eyes. It’s very touching tribute.
