Justin Trudeau ‘pushing back’ against Donald Trump’s tariff intentions

Seattle University Political Science Associate Professor Patrick Schoettmer says Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has "pushed back" against US President-elect Donald Trump’s announced intention to impose tariffs on the country.

Mr Schoettmer says Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has also pushed back against the tariffs.

“It’s an interesting strategy since Canada and Mexico are the two largest trade partners for the US,” Mr Schoettmer told Sky News Australia.

“All three economies are very closely interconnected.”
