Guy waved a gun at me 20 minutes ago on 45. I was in the slow lane and did nothing to anyone. He looked like he was screaming and very upset about something. Then he tried to speed off and got stuck behind a big rig and I just rolled right on by. Truly there are just crazy folks on the road.
Edit: he was driving a charger, grey. 🤦‍♂️

She asked him what part was dangerous and why… he babbled about drivers needing to avoid distractions. Thanks for nothing.

45 was never design for the traffic on it. I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic

I would rather crawl on my hands and knees to my destination than have to drive on I-45. I'm not kidding! To me, it's worth burning up 1/4 to 1/2 of a tank of gas just to circumvent I-45.

Too many folks moving here and increasing traffic and crazy out of state drivers habits been getting worse for years as population continues to increase

Its definitely the drivers that make that road dangerous. When I used to drive for Uber the area around Hobby airport/I-45 had way more reckless, aggressive drivers compared to the drivers around Bush Intercontinental airport.

I use to see a wreck on I-45 roughly every week on my way to work at about 3am. The last wreck that caused me to change my daily route to Highway 59 involved an 18 wheeler and there was a covered deceased body in the middle of the freeway. That was roughly 20 years ago. I know it is much worse now. I have been telling everyone for years that 45 the most unsafe freeway in Houston. Fact.

Aggressive driving has always been the norm in Texas! Texas is the most dangerous place to drive.

Nothing wrong with the highway design. It's the speed at which people drive on this highway. I was at 85mph and was in the "slow" lane and people were still made at me for driving slow.

I drive 45 all the time. Just have to be very alert and pay very good attention and stay off phones, overall haven't had any accident. Thank God. Most highways are dangerous period.

I'd feel safer driving from Kuwait to Iraq (passing through Baghdad) again.

I can see this. I once seen a dude in a truck on the left land where there’s no shoulder straight up side swipe and fudge his whole truck up and just keep driving south. This was by Scott st at 1am

Since it's basically the last "free" highway left in Houston along with I-10 and 610, since everything is a tollway now, the traffic density is just insane. I've been driving Hardy Toll for 6 years now, and even that is getting jam packed every day. I avoid I45 at all costs. (And the 610 loop)
