what if x1 is scaled by a and x2 is scaled by b then what is the output signal

HW answer is p(t-1)

(t-(-2+3)) = (t-1)

therefore, it is p(t-1)

Sir x(t-t1) should be the time advance but you are saying it is time delay?though the time is being shifted towards left of axis.
