I try and do as much as I can. Reusable shopping bags, foods in glass jars, not buying tiny single-serve ANYTHING, it all adds up. If I end up having to use plastic shopping bags, I reuse them as much as I can. Glass jars become glasses for regular use or containers for nails and screws, salsa containers, whatever we need. My favorite jars are the big pasta sauce ones with measuring marks on the side. So useful!

Thank big oil, their lobbyists, and your local political leaders for all the wonderful plastics that have replaced glass and paper packaging. How little the Earth means to some people when there is a dollar to be made. How little it matters to the masses when there is a dollar to be saved.

Almost all peanut butters have oil and/or sugar added. To be really health-conscious, load up the mesh bag with unsalted, shelled peanuts, and dump them into your blender / grinder, then store them in glass.

This is a HUGE problem! Thanks for this video! It’s mostly the fault of the manufacturers for putting so much stuff in plastic. It sickens me to walk into a store lined with thousands of plastic single use bottles for everything from soda, to bottled water, to shampoo & laundry soap. There are warehouses STUFFED with mountains of plastic & no place to use/recycle it. Buy glass when you can, buy laundry soap in sheets instead of plastic jugs…do what you can!

Yup, we need to get rid of all plastics, especially non recyclable, we lived without plastics just under a hundred years ago and can live without them today.

This is one of my gripes about Trader Joe's. Almost all their produce comes in plastic packaging.

Reuse them. Plant a tree, a pollinating flower, and develop plant based plastics for universal use. Every day you can make a difference.
