In this video, I show you how to setup a Git Bare Repository in order to backup/manage your dotfiles on a site like Gitlab. This works on any of the Git websites as far as I know and its a really good way to manage your dot files so when you "distro hop" you can grab all of your existing dot files and get back up and going quickly. What's that cat command that prints out things that way with line numbers and stuff? Or is it the terminal? Thanks!

I am a beginner in Linux, and when I was searching for how to save dot files, I noticed two methods, one using git bare repository and the other method using stow. What is the difference between them? Why do I use one method over the other?
