My wife and I, bought a copy last month. We are new to the Reformed world and have limited knowledge to Church History and its faithful people. We usually use this for sharing quotes in socmed and to our friends at church who are yet Reformed/Calvinistic.
Thanks for this video, pastor. Love from the Philippines 🇵🇭

I cannot wait to purchase the Jonathan Edwards study Bible! I read and test myself against his resolutions weekly.

Looks like an awesome study Bible. Thanks for reviewing. 👍

I don't understand the warning about the lack of a cohesive theological viewpoint in this study Bible. The history of the Church is one of differing points of view; different denominations, etc.

I like it although I think it leans pretty reformed in who they choose as contributors. That’s not necessarily a problem but when I first got my copy I was hoping that it might be a bit more diverse. I was hoping that it would have some of the early Methodists and Baptists along with some of the Eastern Fathers and while it has a handful of them it pales in comparison to how often those from the reformed tradition are referenced probably at a rate of 10 to 1. I get that Crossway is the publisher and that’s the direction they lean in but I wish they would have taken the direction Holman did with the Ancient Faith Study Bible where they were willing to have things like Premillennialism and Amillenialism on the same page.

I have one in their genuine leather. I enjoy it as well as the Spurgeon study Bible and Holman’s Ancient Faith Study Bible. I look forward to your Edwards Study Bible being released.
Thanks for the review Matt!

Great review Pastor. Btw, Dr. Reverend Steve Woodworth told me to tell you hello as I attend his church here in Georgia. He told me you two were good friends.

One should definitely study the letters of Ignatius of Antioch if they want to know about church history.

Great video review of this Bible. I am planning on buying a copy. Quick question. Could you do a video review of the Scofield Reference Bible and your view on Scofield's Bible (as it was one of the most used Study bibles for many years). Thanks.

I ordered this Bible from Christian books and it’s back ordered to September… I must be a Berean at heart as I also just received the ESV Reformation Study Bible edited by Sproule and am looking forward to getting into that one as well and of course I plan to get yours as well!
Of course my Husband just shakes his head in wonder and asks “ Of all the twenty some odd Bibles you have, do you think that these Bibles will end any differently?” 😂😂😂

I hope this is taken in the spirit in which it's meant. I'm not trying to be rude.
Peeking at some of the notes/info in that Bible, this seems to be material that would be interesting and even valuable, but in a separate volume. It doesn't seem to be directly related to Bible study. (Like word definitions, Hebrew/Greek translations, author & historical background of a particular book, etc.) What I'm seeing is Christians collecting a zillion different Bibles because they want this or that particular information. Again, it's good information. But a lot of it is not directly Bible-study related material. Not only do people sometimes get distracted from reading the actual Bible text because they're going on all these rabbit trails, but they end up with a shelf of Bibles they barely open. It's jarring to see that sort of thing after hearing about Christians in other countries that can barely get hold of one Bible. Many risk their lives. Some are murdered / martyred, just for possessing one Bible. I guess I am just thinking out loud. But the longer I go, the more it's just not sitting well with me.

A solid study Bible, but as you mentioned in certain parts it seems to heavily rely on only a few historical theologians. I may use this everyonce in a while, but I'll probably stick with the Ancient Christian and the Reformation Commentary on Scripture sets by IVP Academic for my historical quote resources.

😂 This is pretty funny, but I do have a dry sense of humor…Thank-you for the review.

9:35 the mishmash of commentators is a concern for me and I'm not sure I'll get it for that reason. Perhaps I'll get the e-version when it's available.

I'd like to see a Calvin study Bible and a James Jordan study Bible (using Through New Eyes).

I look forward to your work and may the Lord bless your efforts.
