Dangerous OLD Ceiling Fan, blades easily brake off!

I barely touch a ceiling fan blade and it fell off while scraping popcorn ceiling texture. I decided to film myself easily pulling off the remaining blades. Besides, who needs a ceiling fan in the kitchen?

In the 1980s, when most ceiling fans had 4 blades, there was a large Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood with a large lobby and 3 or 4 different rooms. In the southernmost room, I remember that one of the two *4-bladed* fans had a broken blade. The blade itself was broken about halfway down, and rather than removing the broken blade, and the blade opposite of the broken one, to have a functional 2-blade fan, until it can be fixed/replaced (something that was actually not that unusual in the 1980s), they just left the fan "as-is, " and it would wobble like crazy! It looked like it was going to fall! Eventually, they replaced both fans, but that was crazy that they let it run like that -and on high-speed, too!

You should probably just get some more brackets for the blades. You don’t really need to replace the entire fan it’s just the brackets that are weak.

The real story, I bumped into the fan during a customers home renovation. One blade fell off and to the floor. I was doing Pop corn removal. Anyway, I took the vid so I didn't have to pay for the fan. They were replacing it anyway. Win win
