Samaritans Purse and Operation Air Drops are good places to donate to help the victims if you can. We really need it. God Bless!

So the FEMA Divison Group Supervisor doesn't have a SAT phone or Starlink and also didn't know where the command post was? What a joke.

My heart aches for that man & his missing father. And all of those with missing lived ones.

The sad truth is that I've never worked any factory that cared to close for weather. Most places threaten you with more points if you miss. Just how this society is driven. Bless these people, may they find peace and justice.

No one should be working during a hurricane

Our mountains are beautiful. Our towns and cities are stunning. Several people watched small towns literally fall off of the mountain. Its crazy to see Asheville and chimney rock devistated. We built so many beautful small towns in the mountains near creeks and rivers. It hurts so bad to see it gone. All we can do is continue helping each other.

Can someone please tell me why federal employees are taking open hotel rooms over victims of the natural disaster?

FEMA being broke during the peak of hurricane season is what incompetence looks like.

I bet the owner and the big wigs in that company were safe and out of town. Absolutely no reason those 11 workers had to die

Worries me that there's a shortage of dump trucks and experienced CDL drivers in the industry to fix the secondary roads in the storm ravaged NC, TN, Va mountains. The amout of debris hauling, bad dirt haulouts, fill dirt and aggregates hauling that has to be done before repaving the washed out roads is mindblowing.
The local rock quarries wont be able to keep up with demand for product. It's going to be a very slow process. Mountain dump.trucking
is no place for most rookie CDL drivers, nor trucks with lousy brakes.

They were warned. And stayed. As far as that company that made the employees work, I hope the families sue the crap out of them for the ones that died.

What happened to the 12, 000 satellite phones FEMA purchased; because they couldn't do their jobs without them?

A helicopter pilot was told he would be arrested if he rescued anyone. Nobody's helping these people. They are helping each other.

I can't believe they are sent out without sat phones.
It's like without roads nothing moves.
