Back in 2008, I was truly getting into gaming. I was playing Twilight Princess and TTYD, completing Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie on my own, going through the Budekai DBZ games and so on. Yet my only real turn-based game I had played at that point was TTYD. But I had heard the murmurs of FF and how good the series was. And then one day when browsing the shelves at GameStop, I saw this and knew I had to get it. And after convincing my mom, I did. I miss the days when I first started playing it. The days when I didn’t understand proper game design and was blown away by the shrinking combat that led to the rat boss to stop Leviathan’s rampage, when I listened to that opening on repeat… and the day I first heard this song.

Me and my sister used to play this song on piano/guitar when we were kids. Good times... Not a single chord of this song is anything other than superb. Each note voices and modulates perfectly.

This song has been remixed and added to another numbered Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XIV. It is an MMORPG, but don’t let that turn you away! It has a trial version that lets you play the entire game AND its first expansion, Heavensward, for free! It also has Easter eggs that callbacks to previous Final Fantasy games, like III. There is a 24-man raid that involves the Crystal Tower, and both the story and music are phenomenal!

I got this as my technically second, but third FF game. (My cousin gave me I&IIDoS.) I can still remember it: it was after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas about three years ago, and my family and I were in Florida, down by highway 30A in the panhandle, for Thanksgiving and a Christmas parade. I got This game as an early Christmas present and would not stop playing it. Oh, the memories this song brings. I almost cry whenever I hear it. =')

0:51 this melody... it sounds like something that was in Touhou but I can't remember which one. Something with Reimu for sure but god I am SURE Touhou used this specific melody here.
