She was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother. She has stated that she was molested during her childhood and early teens and became pregnant at 14. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime talk show arena. She's thought to have popularized and revolutionized the tabloid talk show genre pioneered by Phil Donahue. By the mid-1990s, she had reinvented her show with a focus on literature, self-improvement, and spirituality. From 2006 to 2008, her endorsement of Obama, by one estimate, delivered over a million votes. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama. The viewership for The Oprah Winfrey Show was highest during the 1991–92 season, when about 13.1 million U.S. viewers were watching each day. The power of Winfrey's opinions and endorsement to influence public opinion has been dubbed "The Oprah Effect".

1. I can be more open and vulnerable by expressing how I feel when there's ups or downs, instead of suppressing my emotions.

2. I feel by not having a plan for my days/weeks/months I loose valuable time so feel out of balance. I'll get a plan.

I completely resonate with her. I have always believed in "let your cup overfloweth" philosophy. A 31 year old man from India, self-abused, and I give out sincere blessings to Oprah wherever she is in the part of the world. I love this woman.

Here are my answers to the three point landing questions.
1. How can I be more open and vulnerable with someone today? I can be more open and vulnerable by being honest about my experiences in the past.
2. What is out of sync in my life today that I need to fix? I need to stop smoking cigarettes .
3. What does filling my cup look like to me? Filling my cup means to be helping other people and sharing the word of my higher power whom I call God.

Every time a message is retold the message gets clarified a minuscule amount more. But such minor adjustments educate a few people more and Oprah articulates a motivational message in just such a way. Thanks again for another great presentation.
