What do you think of Sony's new flagship APS-C camera?

Looks like some VERY impressive low light performance. I’d love to see a comparison to a current full frame camera. I switched to an A7C in January because low light performance is pretty important to me (sadly), but for my hobby stuff I LOVE LOVE LOVE small cameras such as the a6300 which I started out with. So the a6700 could actually have been the better camera for my needs. APS-C definitely has its advantages.

I’m surprised that Sony didn’t include a dual memory card slot though! Everything else about this camera is more than good enough for professional use. But a single memory card slot is a dealbreaker to most professionals. Canon and Fujifilm took note of that, and not to their disadvantage I would think.

Impressive! The A6700 packs a lot of capability and performance in a compact form factor and going with the bigger battery extends useability and creates a larger grip. The new hot shoe mounted microphone is also impressive, being able to select the coverage pattern and the ability to select front/back pattern on separate channels is genius.

M1 has only 4 microphones but 8 pick up patterns.

How will this do tracking frogs outdoors and additionally in a studio setting? Will insect tracking or animal tracking be better for tracking a frog's eyes for video?

This camera provides a solid upgrade path from where I am (6300+APC lenses) without going full-frame, which I didn't really want to do. Highlights for me are the improved ergonomics (articulating screen is tremendous; also better grip and front control wheel), better sensor/processor, class-leading autofocus, and, if it works well, anti-flicker, which nobody has really talked about. I mostly shoot stage/concerts, and if Sony has solved the conflict between LED lighting and electronic shutter that would be great. Now, Sony, PLEASE give us an APC f/2.8 medium telephoto with teleconverters like the Fujifilm 50-140, to go with this fine camera!

Wanted a Sony camera with more integrated balanced audio input, or an Ethernet port for Dante digital audio input. After four years of waiting, the successor to the A6600 ought to have been able to capture in ProRes and ProRes LT, especially when Sony is capturing to comparable bit rates in their own formats. If the A6700 had merely been a Sony copy-cat of a BlackMagic 4K pocket camera, but with Sony optics, and Sony auto-focus tech, then I would have pre-ordered already. But with A6600's connected to BlackMagic 7" video capture monitors that have the features Sony left out, our needs are still better met that way than by updating to A6700's.

@Sony please give the Sony A7S III more updates in the same way you did to the Sony FX3. You need to give more updates to Sony A7S III other wise loyal Sony users will move to Panasonic.

5:15 As I see, that mic is worthless in real world because it takes all the environment noises. Its not a real shotgun. If you need one, go to Sennheiser, buy a shotgun foe the half ot the price of this Sony one, then you cant go wrong.
