If these guys stay next years team might not have any starting freshman if the boozer twins don’t commit. Harris, Kon, Evan’s, Brown, Ngongba would make for an interesting line up. Depending on how Foster does this year he may come back for his junior season which would bump Harris to backup PG. All hypothetical but still fun to think about

13:00 Didn't Wemby achieve a 5 x 5 for the Spurs against the Lakers last season? The only difference is that he didn't shoot 100% from the field.

Evan’s just stopped showing how great he is around AAU. His numbers were awful so there wasn’t a lot of great new film to drool over. If it’s because of getting overshadowed, she’s got an awful long bunch to sit on the end of.

Kevin glad to see you back, unfortunately, the analysis of Maliq Brown is very disappointing. You really bungled this one buddy. Have you watched any of his games???? Don't worry Maliq I got you here my friend. And as for Jared McCain last year, Kevin you can attest to this. No one was more bullish on Jared McCain preseason than me. And not once did I try to rub it in.

And oh by the way people.... It's pronounced Khaman MAL-OO-WASH, not Mal-oo-ahk.

Kevin, the reason Maliq Brown earned All ACC Defensive Team is because he's not a true 5. Naheem McLeod, a guy whose 7'4" was Syracuse's center and he suffered a season ending injury to his right foot. Jesse Edwards transferred out to West Virginia via the portal if you happen to recall, so Adrian Autry was left with playing Brown at the 5 to right the ship after McLeod's injury.

Brown is only 6'8" (not 6'9") but do this: Go watch Syracuse play UNC and Clemson. Maliq completely handled Armando Bacot and PJ Hall. That was his coming out party for All ACC Defensive team. His game against DJ Burns was "meh" but whose isn't? Just ask Filipowski.

And I'm going to warn you.... When you go back and watch those games you will feel embarrassed about your take on his 3PT shooting. Brown is an excellent 3PT shooter on low volume. He shot nearly 37% for the season and he will bail out Duke this year in late shot clock situations just watch. He has a super soft touch, nice looking shot. Also, his 2PT% was 74%, I think you meant his overall FG% being close to 70%.

I've come full circle on this and Brown is a must start. There is no way getting around it. You just don't sit one of the best defensive players in the ACC. In fact, I have very intriguing stats on All Conference OFF/DEF POY and the success rate of winning a national title, as well as winning the ACC. But more on that later.

So the real question is: Who do you leave out of the lineup if Brown is a starter? Here is my starting 5 (as of right now):

1) Proctor
2) James
3) Flagg
4) Brown
5) Maluach

Duke is going to have a very formidable defense this season.
Kenpom Top 5 unless Jai Lucas screws it up with all the unnecessary switching.

Most Duke fans wouldn't know this, but if you look at my starting 5 the worst defender is Cooper Flagg.

Sion James is a very very good defender and a MACK TRUCK on offense. Excellent mid-range shooter which is why it's surprising that one of his biggest weaknesses will be improving on his FT shooting. He is also a 38% 3PT shooter.

Jon Scheyer needs to cultivate Khaman Maluach into the ACC Defensive Player of the year - more on this later, but you can't teach 7'2" with a 7'5" wingspan.

Most of the rumbling will come down to Proctor and Foster who I think need to fight it out at the PG spot. Proctor appears to have really put in the work on his 3PT shooting. But Foster is much better at attacking and scoring near the rim. Proctor edges Foster in defense and AST/TO ratio, but they will also play together when Maluach takes a breather as I expect Brown to slide to the 5 if he's already playing the 4.
