President Joe Biden and his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, meet for the first debate of the 2024 election in Atlanta, Georgia, a state expected to play a pivotal role in November after it tipped the scales in Biden's favor in 2020.

Thursday night, Biden, the Democratic incumbent, gets the chance to reassure voters that, at 81, he’s capable of guiding the U.S. through a range of challenges. The 78-year-old Trump, meanwhile, could use the moment to try to move past his felony conviction in New York and convince an audience of tens of millions that he’s temperamentally suited to return to the Oval Office.

I watched this debate the night it aired from a treatment facility. Held the ranks with addicts and recovering alcoholics for over a year now. 1.President spoke of law enforcement initiatives and increased detection to prevent drug trafficking to decrease over doses.2. The other President spoke of regional technology to detect and break drug making machinery. These men represent the most brilliant political bodies in this country..That's all they got folks..for people suffering from the throws of addiction. I'm looking for short term and long term solutions. Everyday I'm faced with the reality that the best results come from corrections facilities or state banishment. It takes 3-5 years to fully recovered and depending on the substance it must be FORCED to achieve results. If we don't get real we will suffer the results of our disregard. Be offended that's better than being blind.
