I am Deaf myself and I think it's so amazing that Ellen learned sign language for him. My ex boyfriend wouldn't learn how to sign because I can talk with my voice. But people don't realize how much of an effort it takes to read lips. It's very sweet that you learned Ryan's language. Not many people will do that. You two are my favorite couple and I wish both of you years of happiness and love.

I think Ryan is remarkable. He is not diminished in being deaf (as he shouldn't!), is resourceful, strong in mind and body, has enormous wit (especially in the way that the deaf perceive things), and is clearly devoted to you, Ellen. You found a good man there. Love to you both. Robert.

Actually cried a little bit when you talked about the breakup and how you think you did not deserve a second chance....
Its tough to stay together after high school and this "identity crisis“, that almost everyone goes through. But to see how you can grow and become a better person through your partner in a relationship is so heartwarming.... I just discovered your vlogs and did not watch that many, but I recognized very fast how you both always care and ask about the opinion of the other person and how respectfully and nice you treat eachother, and still with love after 8 years!❤️

I'm Japanese who's in relationship with Japanese deaf bf. We are hearing and deaf couple, so we communicate in Japanese sign language. I was so surprised to know that you're Japanese!

I feel almost the same to my bf. I love his language and I love how honest he is.(Although he's 21years older than me so we want to marry asap but my family doesn't allow me to do so just because he's deaf.)

I'm now starting to learn ASL from youtube by myself, so your channel really helps me in both "Study" and "Life of hearing and deaf couple".

Im not deaf nor do I know sign language. I stumbled upon the your Channel literally yesterday. The videos are very informational and just so genuine and fun to watch. Never have I ever, seen two people enjoy one anothers company as much as you two do. You obviously had hardships but the growth and maturity is amazing. You guys actually inspired me to take asl in school this year and my professor is deaf and the situational humor is something I understand because she communicates to us by writing and acting out situations and I just know exactly what she is saying and she is so funny! I think it’s beautiful to communicate through sign and I’m so happy I’m learning it and can hopefully be a bridge for communication between deaf and hearing people in the future! ❤️
