I’m not an Ableton user, but I’m excited for this product. I hope it does well. User upgradable components need to make a comeback. Back in the day, samplers had upgradable memory. Some drum machines could swap out eprom chips to change the sound.

I agree it’s strange that Ableton doesn’t at least include Ableton Standard with the Push. New users will have a higher barrier to entry.

I think it’s pretty genius how they did this. They made one product and just removed the standalone components for the controller version. If you decide you want the standalone version later, you just buy the additional components. No MPC X controversies. If you need more ram or storage, just purchase an upgrade. No need to buy a new machine. I hope other manufacturers copy this.

I think people forget how amazing Ableton is as a DAW. I love that they have options for different budgets. Also the device is designed with upgradability in mind. Only downside is the cost of the license if you do not already use Ableton. Standalone may be overkill unless you are a touring musician.

Also very few midi sequencers can touch the push now. Only those above 1000 bucks like Linnstrument or Rolei. If you look at it that way. Push 3 as controler get you a lot plus software. Same as an instrument. Octatrack is only close competitor. Deluge/ OP1, MPC/Machine have limited software compared to Ableton.

I am in Ableton User and I would love to use this for my setup. For those of us that are in that situation this is an amazing thing. This is really good. I say this because now we can operate as a standalone and then have a lot of functionality and still come back to our dog. I think this is something that native instruments should’ve done the fact that they give me the ability to update your device is amazing. I would love to be on the go make a beat and then come back home and still be able to put it into the Daw. I do agree with you. I think this is a lot for new people that want to get into the Ableton ecosphere.

I think it’s a great product if you’re a Ableton Live user. A standalone Ableton Live device. It will be a big hit.

That’s not me although I do have a license to Live 11 Standard. Me and Ableton never clicked. I don’t like conforming to how it does things. I’ll stick to the MPC world but I think this will be impactful for Ableton people looking for the standalone experience.

I play guitar, so I love the fact that it has a built in audio interface. And the expressive pads and standalone mode are cool. If I didn't buy the Push 2 about a year ago, I probably would be interested. I think it has some cool features, but not enough to make me wanna upgrade from the 2 at this time.

FYI…it comes with Ableton Intro which is 16 tracks….Standard is the next step up and has unlimited tracks….then Suite which has unlimited tracks and Max for Live. If your an Ableton user then it’s definitely a solid buy. If your not but only use less then 16 tracks anyway then it’s still a solid buy.

It’s warranty is 3 years. So you buy an iPhone for $2000 these days and may use it 3 years then trade or sell it for the next thing. Yes it’s a phone I get it but still it’s the way we are now with electronics.

On top of that you get Audio Interface, WIFI, SSD, Battery and a Processor which are all upgradable.

The Launchpad Pro maybe something to consider if the push 3 is too pricey. I say the standalone is fairly priced especially since it’s future proofed with the ability to expand. It comes out to about what you would pay for the MPC X SE. The push 2 is dang near 10 years old. I like that Ableton doesn’t release new hardware every year or two. Feels like you get your money’s worth.

They sold out in a day, the market is marketing

I thought about the software cost also but I think a lot or majority of the people going to buy it probably already Ave the software at this point but it will be another expense for people who are new.

The force still has some cool things that the push doesnt have

I am not interested in Push 3 features I already have PUSH2. I don’t need or want my Push to be stand alone. I love my MPC X SE. I prefer the sampling and workflow of the current MPCs especially the X

This has always been my concern about getting the Push you still have to pay to get the unlimited!!! In my opinion I’d rather just get the software me coming from using the lite version!!!
